Premier League fixtures announced for 2019/2020

Simon Lloyd

The countdown to 2019/2020 has officially started

32 days. It’s only been 32 days since Manchester City defeated Brighton to be crowned 2019 Premier League champions, yet here we are, gearing up for the new season.

After the ‘leaks‘, the genuine 2019/2020 fixture list for the English top flight has finally been published.

fixtures

European champions Liverpool, who finished second last season, feature in the season’s first game – hosting newly promoted Norwich at Anfield on Friday August 9. This game will be shown on Sky Sports.

City begin their defence away to West Ham in the early kick-off the next day, shown on BT Sport.

Arguably the biggest game of the first weekend, however, is the one which takes place at Old Trafford on Sunday, where Manchester United host Chelsea in a 4.30pm kick-off.

Here are all the fixtures for the opening weekend:

Friday, 9 August 2019

Liverpool v Norwich City (8pm)

Saturday, 10 August 2019

West Ham v Man City (12:30pm)
AFC Bournemouth v Sheffield United
Burnley v Southampton
Crystal Palace v Everton
Leicester City v Wolves
Watford v Brighton
Spurs v Aston Villa (5:30pm)

Sunday, 11 August 2019

Newcastle United v Arsenal (2pm)
Man Utd v Chelsea (4:30pm)

Last season’s top two meet for the first time at Anfield on November 9, subject to TV confirmation, with the return fixture at the Etihad down for April 4.

On paper, Liverpool’s end to the season appears more difficult than City’s. Jurgen Klopp’s side will have a home game against Chelsea to play in between trips to Arsenal and Newcastle, while City’s final six games come against sides that finished outside the top half of the table last season.

Though some games will be rescheduled due to TV demands and European and domestic cup games, the full list of Premier League fixtures for the entire 2019/2020 season can be viewed here.
