Eriksen's departure from Inter Milan was confirmed on Friday

Christian Eriksen's agent is optimistic about his client's chances of resuming his playing career - despite his departure from Inter Milan last week.

Eriksen has been out of action since suffering cardiac arrest while representing Denmark in their opening game of Euro 2020 in the summer.

The former Tottenham playmaker has since been fitted with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), which regulates any changes in his heartbeat.

However, he was informed that he was not permitted to resume his playing career in Italy due to Serie A rules which prevent players who are fitted with the device from playing in the league. As a result, Inter confirmed on Friday that his contract had been terminated by mutual consent.

It was recently revealed that Eriksen had been training alone with Odense Boldklub (OB), the team he spent three years with as a youngster, as he prepares for a possible comeback.

Speaking to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, his agent Martin Schoots also confirmed his client intended to find a new side as soon as possible, with two clubs already expressing interest in him.

"I can confirm that Christian will continue to play football. Two clubs called me a few weeks ago," he said.

Schoots did not confirm who the two interested clubs were, but did say that one was from the Premier League while the other play in the Eredivisie.

Eriksen has already been linked with a possible return to Ajax, where he played before moving to Spurs. It was reported last month that he was tempted by a possible return to Amsterdam, though it has since been claimed that Ajax are not thought to be as keen to sign him up as the media had previously made out.
