Police Twitter account uses cold weather as opportunity to poke fun at Steven Gerrard slip

This’ll go down *really* well with Liverpool supporters…

Britain is in the grips of an icy, winter blast. With this in mind, the folks with the keys to Thames Valley Police’s official Twitter account decided it was high time to pass on some advice to all 322 of their followers on Monday afternoon.

To sum up, all they wanted to do was warn the good people of their constabulary to be a little careful with conditions underfoot and not to make any unnecessary journeys. Simple.

To get their message across, they decided to chuck in a GIF of Steven Gerrard slipping to allow Demba Ba to put a sizeable dent in Liverpool’s 2013/14 title challenge. Yeah, it was over three years ago and yeah, it’s a little bit of a tenuous link – but just look at those sweet, sweet retweets…
