TV pundit slates £89m Paul Pogba as “useless” and brands Pep Guardiola “a fraud”

He hasn't held back here...

Eamon Dunphy has taken aim at the world’s most expensive player and the world’s most famous coach.

Paul Pogba and Pep Guardiola both had weekends to forget.

The Manchester United midfielder was awful against Liverpool in the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford. Pogba conceded a penalty, struggled to find a teammate with a pass and ran around looking bewildered.

A few hours earlier on Sunday, at Goodison Park, Guardiola watched his Manchester City team lose 4-0 to Everton.

Just as the pair thought this week couldn’t get any worse, along comes an Irish pundit they have never heard of to criticise them.

Dunphy took aim at Paul Pogba.

“Pogba was never worth £100m,” the RTE pundit said on 2FM’s Game On.

“At £20m he would have been expensive. With the money they’ve spent with (Jose) Mourinho and (Louis) Van Gaal, they should really have a better team.

“Paul Pogba is very immature. He plays like a kid. He is not worth the money they paid for him and he won’t be worth the money they paid for him. He is the elephant in the room. He’s useless.”

He then called-out Pep Guardiola, accusing the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach of being a “fraud.”

“They were an embarrassment against Everton. And they were an embarrassment when they played Leicester as well,” the RTE pundit said.

“For any coach to see his team taken apart like that, by pretty ordinary sides, its deeply embarrassing. He’s in deep trouble.”

“He’s not what you guys think he is,” Dunphy said to the presenters.

“He doesn’t believe in defence? What the hell is he talking about? Last week he said he might give up coaching. ‘I don’t coach defence’ – well, go and work in an office then.”

“He thinks that he reinvented football when he was at Barcelona, and he didn’t.

“He got a ready-made team with 21-year-old (Lionel) Messi, Xavi, (Andreas) Iniesta at their peak and he did brilliantly with them, but he didn’t do much with Munich that hadn’t been done before.

“The year before he went to Munich they won the treble, including the Champions League, with Jupp Heynckes.”

“This guy has a fan club, and he’s talked of as a guru. But what they’re doing now, there’s one or two, I’m reluctant to name them, but one guy in particular, who’s crazy about him, and he’s gone quiet.

“He hasn’t written about him in five-weeks. Because, it is becoming clear that he (Guardiola) is a fraud.”
