It has not been a good Valentine’s Day for Joleon Lescott.

The Aston Villa defender was part of a defensive line that gave up six goals to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, but it was what he did that invoked the rage of Villa fans everywhere.

With supporters still reeling from the defeat, the 33-year-old pushed some over the edge when he posted a photo of a car on his Twitter page.

Fans accused Lescott of being out of touch and not caring about the team’s poor run of form.

After two hours of constant abuse, the England international shared an apology with his fans for both his performance and the post, claiming the picture had been tweeted by accident while his phone was in his pocket.
