Charlie Austin’s destination at the end of the transfer window is not set in stone, but one of QPR’s most famous fans let the striker know he’s still wanted at Loftus Road.

Libertines frontman Pete Doherty is well-known for his support of the Championship club, even penning a song which he plans to release if they win the FA Cup in his lifetime.

And during his band’s set at the Leeds Festival, the 36-year-old dedicated the song ‘Time for Heroes’ to Austin and former QPR hero Stan Bowles.

Will it make enough of a difference to keep Austin in West London, or will the likes of Spurs, West Ham or Newcastle be back in with a bid before the transfer window closes?
