Pep Guardiola ‘fuming’ at Dani Alves’ Man City snub

It seemed certain that Alves was Etihad bound

Only a few days ago, Dani Alves’ move to Manchester City appeared to be a certainty.

After strong rumours linking the former Barcelona right back with a switch to the Etihad, it was announced that Alves would be leaving Juventus after just one season in Italy. Reuniting with his old coach Pep Guardiola in England seemed to make perfect sense.

Despite this, it now appears that Alves’ next destination will in fact be Paris Saint-Germain, much to the reported annoyance of Pep…

Reports from France claim the Brazilian is in the French capital to sign with PSG after Antero Henrique – their new sporting director – tabled a bumper deal to take him to the Ligue 1 club.

The news has not gone down well at all with City’s manager who, according to The Independent, has been left ‘fuming’ and ‘stunned’ at Alves’ decision to move to PSG.

It’s believed that Guardiola had allowed Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta leave the club in the belief that Alves would be taking one of their places. City are also said to be interested in bringing Tottenham’s Kyle Walker to the club this summer, with reports claiming Spurs are asking £50m for the England international right back.
