People have noticed something very embarrassing about Spurs’ new stadium adverts

Oh Spurs, never change

Nooruddean Choudry

The devil is in the detail.

It’s certainly not cheap advertising on the London Underground system, and nor should it be. The tube-side billboards cater to a captive market of tens of thousands of commuters whose eyes crave stimulation whilst waiting for their service (and lacking in phone reception).

But it’s small fry for a Premier League football club, especially one with the resources and ambition of Tottenham Hotspur. The North London club are in the midst of promoting their fancy new stadium, and need to fill up their VIP package quotas in order to make it all cost effective.

You’d expect them to double and triple-check each and every detail of their advertising copy, and spare no expense to ensure every pixel and word is perfect. Alas, the latest ad for the ‘premium’ option at their planned new home has a slight problem – they can’t spell ‘premium’…twice.

It hardly smacks of perfection or even competence, but with Spurs, we’re not sure we’d have it any other way…
