It's already sold out online

Nike launched Nigeria’s home and away kits for the upcoming World Cup in Russia today in Nike Town, London, and people were queueing as far as the eye could see to get their hands on the zig-zag masterpiece that has a real claim to being the best shirt in the tournament.

Donned by John Obi Mikel, Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi, the shirt broke the record for Nike pre-orders, with 3 million orders before release. That’s more than Manchester United’s shirt sold in the entirety of 2016.

It’s not hard to see why, really. The light green/white/black number is absolutely dripping in sauce, oozing in it, and is easily the most unique kit Nike have designed in years. Even the away version, whilst a bit more subdued, is still a classy shade of forest green.

The shirt is already sold out online and as you can see, copping today in London was a very high priority for a number of people, as they queued all the way down Oxford Street.

The Super Eagles probably aren’t going to win the World Cup this year, but I for one will enjoy watching Mikel rove around as a number 10 playing short first time passes whilst looking like he’s been to a day rave. That’s what the World Cup is all about at the end of the day, isn’t it?
