People are going wild over Steven Defour’s free kick against Manchester United

There's no stopping those.

Pick that one out.

Burnley have been flying this season, exceeding everyone’s expectations, including their own.

Last season they only mustered one away win, but they’ve vastly improved their away form, picking up 15 points on the road before today.

They’re set to pick up 3 more at Old Trafford after Steven Defour’s free kick put them 2-0 up against Manchester United.

As you’d expect, Burnley fans are in jubilation.

The goal earned plaudits from neutral fans alike.

It was a David Beckham-esque strike, straight into the top corner, leaving David De Gea with no chance of getting to it.

There’s no stopping that.

The Belgian midfielder was being chased by Manchester United back in 2009, when he was plying his trade at Genk. He broke his foot during his time there and Sir Alex Ferguson sent a letter to the player, wishing him a speedy recovery.

He never got his move to Old Trafford, but he has at least scored a fantastic goal at the Theatre of Dreams.

A win for Burnley would see them go back into the top 6 on 35 points, until Thursday evening at least when Arsenal go to Crystal Palace, looking for an important victory.

If Burnley continue to put in away performances like this, they will have a genuine chance of spoiling the ‘Big 6 and the rest’ status-quo, for this season at least.
