Paul Pogba could be out for longer than originally thought

Bad news for Manchester United fans

The French star could be out for up to three months.

Manchester United fans held their breath when Paul Pogba went off with a hamstring injury on Tuesday night.

The Frenchman was substituted early on in United’s Champions League group match against Basel. In the short term it worked out fine, as his replacement Marouane Fellaini netted the first goal in United’s 3-0. But in the long term, fans were worried about how serious the injury was. With United starting the season so strong, and Pogba being a major part of that momentum, there was understandable fears of an injury potentially derailing their season.

And now those concerns have been answered – and it’s not good news. The Times is reporting MRI scans on his hamstring have indicated a grade three tear, which could lead to an absence of “six weeks or maybe 12”.

There are also reports of the club being unhappy about Pogba conducting private physical training away from United’s supervision. A United source told The Times “The injury is really bad. It’s not normal for a player respecting our training programme”.

Will we now see Marouane Fellaini having to step up and fill in for Manchester United’s record signing?
