'The main thing is Fenerbahce'
Mesut Ozil has responded to being excluded from Fenerbahce's squad with a cryptic tweet claiming that the club is the 'main thing'.
It comes after the former Arsenal star was
suspended with immediate effect by the Turkish club, who also sanctioned Ozan Tufan.
Fenerbahce released a statement announcing that the 33-year-old had been suspended, which read: "Our Football A Team players Mesut Ozil and Ozan Tufan have been excluded from the squad as per the decision taken. It is announced to the public."
As reported by
football.london, he was suspended due to a verbal altercation with the club's interim manager.
The report adds that the altercation with interim manager Ismail Kartal occurred during the team's 2-1 home win against second-placed Konyaspor, when the midfielder was substituted at half-time.
Ozil posts cryptic tweet in response to being suspended
Now, Ozil has now broken his silence after the initial announcement, posting a picture on Twitter of the flag of Turkey and the club, with the message: "The main thing is Fenerbahce."

The midfielder was previously slammed by Fenerbahce president Ali Koc, who
told Fenerbahce TV via talkSPORT: "Since the start of this season, Mesut Ozil has been compared to Robin van Persie.
"Ozil wants to play more. From now on, he needs to focus on his game and keep his commercial interests out of it. He needs to think about contributing to Fenerbahce.
"Our coach also needs to try to figure out how to get the most out of Ozil. There is not a problem, despite what the media says. Mesut is unhappy because he does not play regularly."
Difficult time in Turkey
Ozil, who joined Fenerbahce last January, has endured a somewhat difficult time in Turkey, registering just one assist in 10 Super Lig matches in his first half-season with the club.
