Only two Arsenal teammates make the grade in Mesut Ozil’s Ultimate XI

Real Madrid dominate

Given the struggles of the side this season, perhaps two Arsenal teammates is a generous selection from Mesut Ozil.

Speaking in his role as PES ambassador, Ozil was asked to name the best starting XI of former or current teammates and his team is not too shabby at all.

The clip, posted on Pro Evolution Soccer’s official YouTube page, arrived hot on the heels of the Gunners’ 10-2 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League and it’s no surprise to see Arsenal’s representatives outnumbered by Ozil’s former colleagues at Real Madrid, as well as his German compatriots.

Hector Bellerin’s breakneck speed earned him a place at right back while Alexis Sanchez was always going to be in with a shout in the front three.

Manuel Neuer starts between the sticks and, filling out the back four with Bellerin, are Jerome Boateng, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo.

Of course Ozil picked himself to pull the strings in the centre of the park alongside Luka Modric and Ilkay Gundogan.

Karim Benzema leads the line and one can only assume that Cristiano Ronaldo’s was the first name on the hypothetical teamsheet.
