Glasgow-bound

The conveyor belt of Manchester City talent moving to Celtic Park to learn their trade looks set to continue.

According to reports, top City prospect Patrick Roberts will be in Glasgow this weekend for a medical ahead of his 18-month loan deal with the Hoops.

Roberts, 18, was spotted by Manuel Pellegrini last season when he made 22 appearances for Fulham in the Championship and was snapped up in a deal worth around £12m over the summer.

The winger has failed to break into the City first team this season and it’s been decided that a lengthy loan spell in Scotland is what’s best for him.

Roberts is an England under-19 international and will have more chances of first team football under Ronny Deila.

He becomes the latest prospect to be offered a temporary stint with Celtic after the likes of John Guidetti and Jason Denayer both enjoyed loan moves with the Scottish champions last season.
