As we told you earlier, it’s now absolutely fine to get ridiculously excited about transfers that will probably never happen.
With only the Confederations Cup around to quench our summer thirst for something resembling meaningful football, the hunt for clues as to where some of the world’s leading football players will be plying their trade by the start of the 2017/18 season is now on.
The latest update comes courtesy of yet another exciting French youngster.
With people (us) reading far too much into Kylian Mbappe’s new haircut, plenty is being made of the Twitter activity of his international colleague, Ousmane Dembele.
Dembele signed for Boruissia Dortmund a year ago, despite reported interest at the time from Manchester United. Now, after United completed their first deal of the summer on Wednesday, it seems Dembele is taking quite an interest in their transfer activity.
Eagle-eyed United fans noted that the 20-year-old had liked a tweet confirming that the club had signed Swedish defender Victor Lindelöf.
With this more than enough for some to start jumping to conclusions, a recent check on his Twitter confirms that he’s followed this by liking a second tweet about the Lindelöf move.
What does it all mean? Probably nothing, but for some, it’s enough to start dreaming that he’ll be following Lindelöf to United in the weeks ahead.
