Here we are again: that time between Christmas Day and New Year's Eve where nobody's quite sure what day it is.

It's also a time of year where it's virtually impossible to make it through the day without hearing some mention of the darts. Friday (December 30, for those of you that aren't so sure of the exact date), was quarter-final day at the William Hill World Darts Championship, with the meeting between two all-time greats, Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld, the most mouth-watering of the ties to be played at Ally Pally. As per usual, there was plenty of hype surrounding it from Sky Sports (who have the TV rights to the event) but the significance of the match wasn't lost on the players, either. 16-time world champion Taylor likened it to Manchester United vs Liverpool, whereas his Dutch opponent, compared it to another footballing rivalry - the El Clásico, between Real Madrid and Barcelona. But while plenty were looking forward to it, there were some sports fans that weren't quite so excited. For them it was time to strike up a famous old debate... https://twitter.com/liamhatton/status/814922739320553472 https://twitter.com/ImADefector/status/814947266012311552 https://twitter.com/aeph24/status/814936211693441024 https://twitter.com/david13os/status/814914602987360256 https://twitter.com/Ben_Wilton/status/814888883091599360 https://twitter.com/Danny_dodd/status/814608332006760448 https://twitter.com/sunnyjim123/status/814547862663102464 It wouldn't be darts season without it, would it?
