Norway celebrate with selfie after Women’s World Cup goal

Was it an elaborate protest against the poor viewing figures for women's football, or just a creative celebration in its own right?

Norway's women responded to going 3-0 up against Thailand in their World Cup opener with a team selfie, involving all 10 outfield players. https://twitter.com/lizziehaldane/status/607602098893635584 We suppose it's more acceptable to do this at 3-0 than at 1-0. When you have a narrow lead it can be interpreted as nothing more than really creative time-wasting. The Norwegians are not the first to celebrate like this, of course, with MLS striker Dom Dwyer and Roma legend Francesco Totti doing similar. However they are the first to involve so many players in the celebration. Frankly, we feel sorry for the goalkeeper, who couldn't join in with the fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuI7i6bSrRU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USRlG926wQM
