Nobody enjoyed Javier Mascherano’s first Barcelona goal more than Luis Suarez

We've never seen him happier

Luis Suarez possesses the type of greediness required of great goalscorers.

The Barcelona forward is simply not happy unless he’s scoring and while we’re sure that goals from his prolific teammates Lionel Messi and Neymar are a welcome addition to Suarez’s contribution, the Uruguayan would almost certainly prefer to be the one finding the net.

Suarez loves nothing more than beating a goalkeeper… Actually, let us amend that.

Suarez only loves one thing more than beating a goalkeeper.

And that’s the sight of teammate Javier Mascherano getting his name on the scoresheet.

It only took seven years and 319 appearances for Mascherano to score his first goal for the Catalan giants but he did so on Wednesday night, when he was entrusted with a penalty against Osasuna with the result already in the bag.

Messi had been substituted minutes earlier and neither Suarez nor Neymar played so Mascherano took responsibility and hammered home the spot-kick.

And judging by the look on Suarez’s face as Mascherano whirled away to celebrate, it was the best day of the striker’s life.
