He’s really not taking this defeat well

Neymar has criticised his younger teammates after a shock – well, a mild surprise – defeat in the final of the Coupe de France against Rennes on penalties.

It was a disappointing night for PSG, who will finish the season with just one trophy, the league, having been knocked out of the French league cup by Guingamp, and the Champions League by Manchester United.

Speaking after the match in the mixed zone, Neymar was critical of his teammates, saying they need to talk less and listen more.

“We need to be more like men in the dressing room, we must be more united,” Neymar said.

“I see a lot of young players who are, not lost exactly, but they lack more ear than mouth.

“They must listen more than they talk. Sometimes a more experienced guy speaks, and they answer back. The coach himself speaks, and they retort. This is not how a team goes far.

“We are more experienced, so they must respect us a bit more, listen a bit more. I had to do the same when I was starting out.”

The Brazilian forward has also been accused of striking a fan after the game while climbing the staircase on his runners-up medal. Video footage emerged on social media appearing to show Neymar lashing out at the fan.
