One regular day of PSG

It’s two weeks into the new season but Neymar and Kylian Mbappé could have their first spat of the campaign already after the Brazilian appeared to like two social media posts directly calling out his teammate.

Paris Saint-Germain continued their strong start to the season with a 5-2 win against Montpellier with both Neymar and Mbappé getting on the scoresheet.

Neymar scored two while the Frenchman grabbed one but also missed a penalty in the first half when the game was 0-0. The Brazilian was spotted wanting to take the penalty, but Mbappé refused to let him and instead missed from 12 yards.

The 30-year-old was given a chance to score from 12 yards later on to make it 2-0, and took his chance, but the earlier spot-kick clearly left Neymar outraged.

After the game, PSG boss Christophe Galtier confirmed that Mbappé would be the club’s first-choice penalty taker this season despite his miss.

And although he didn’t directly call out Mbappé on social media, Neymar’s recent activity made his feelings on the situation clear.

PSG’s number 10 liked two posts, the first of which said: “Today, in the PSG game, Neymar scored and HUMILIATED the goalkeeper (once again) in the penalty kick. Mbappé, on the other hand, hit VERY badly and lost.

“After the game, the coach said that Mbappé will be the team’s main hitter for the season. An absurdity.”

Meanwhile the other post he liked said: “Now it’s official, Mbappe is the one who takes the penalties at PSG.

“Clearly this is a contract thing, because in no club in the world that has Neymar, he would be the second collector, none!! It seems that because of the contract, Mbappe is the owner of PSG!!”

Mbappé meanwhile was criticised for his behaviour after he appeared to throw a strop when teammate Vitinha didn’t pass to him when PSG launched a counter-attack.

The Frenchman threw his arms in the air and began to walk off towards the touchline in frustration, leading to many on social media questioning his attitude.
