Neymar hobbles out of Brazil training session after 15 minutes

Worrying sight for Brazil fans

Nobody panic (yet), but Neymar limped out of Brazil’s training session on Tuesday.

Just a couple of days after Brazil’s tournament opener, Neymar appears to be hurt. The Brazilian talisman was fouled 10 times in his country’s 1-1 draw against Switzerland on Sunday. This made him the most fouled player in a single World Cup game in two decades. In 1998, Alan Shearer was fouled a whopping 10 times in England’s curtain-jerker against Tunisia.

Neymar skipped training on Monday, according to ESPN. This was not seen as a concern as most players who started against the Swiss only took part in light jogging.

However, he left Tuesday’s session very early. The PSG man was participating in a keep-away drill when he suddenly stopped in his tracks. He winced in pain before limping off the training pitch just 15 minutes after training began.

Worryingly, it was his right foot that caused him problems. That’s the same foot in which he suffered a fractured metatarsal that ended his first season in Ligue 1 in February. He underwent surgery on the foot before making his return to football in Brazil’s warm-up games for the World Cup.
