‘Next Phillipe Coutinho’ admits Manchester United would be his first choice destination

A dazzling winger who scores goals - music to Mourinho's ears

Hirving Lozano is a player in demand.

The exciting Pachuca winger – whose blistering pace, outstanding dribbling skills and goalscoring feats have brought comparisons to Liverpool’s Phillipe Coutinho – was expected to move in the winter transfer window. A number of European clubs disclosed bids north of €20m for the flying Mexican in January, but the Liga MX club refused to consider the sale of their crown jewel until the summer.

Now it seems all but certain that Lozano will join a major European club in the coming window. The 21-year-old has scored 18 goals in 27 appearances this season, despite mainly being played out on the wing, and various clubs including Inter Milan, Benfica, PSV Eindhoven and Lyon, are said to be vying for his signature. But it seems Manchester United are now favourites to land the player.

The Old Trafford club have been scouting the Mexican for some time now, and the player himself has admitted that they would be his preferred option. Speaking to Univision about his future plans he confessed that he’d love to play for Jose Mourinho’s side next season.

“I believe many [leagues] are beautiful, I like the English and the Spanish very much. But let’s see how things are and decide. The one I would like most is Manchester, I like this club a lot and it’s a very important club.”

Where he ends up remains to be seen, but here’s a look at what he’s got to offer:
