The New York Giants confirmed on Monday that their star receiver would have surgery this week on the ankle he fractured during the fourth quarter of Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Following this, head coach Ben McAdoo has now added that the injury is serious enough to rule Beckham out for the rest of the season.
The news is another major blow for the Giants, who also lost three other receivers to injury during the same game. Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard also picked up ankle injuries and Dwayne Harris broke his foot - enough to see him sidelined for the remainder of the season, too.
The Giants, who are winless after their first five games, face the Denver Broncos in Colorado next Monday with Roger Lewis their only available receiver.
