New sexism storm could see Chris Gayle leave Big Bash league

We might not have heard the end of the Chris Gayle controversy.

The Jamaican cricketer was fined by Big Bash League club Melbourne for asking out reporter Mel McLaughlin live on air, and issued an unconvincing non-apology for his actions.

And now it has been reported that the Gayle could be leave the competition altogether, following new allegations which he strenuously denies.

Gayle has been accused of indecent exposure, relating to an alleged incident during the 2015 Cricket World Cup, but has issued a statement explaining his plans to launch defamation proceedings against Fairfax Media for publishing the unverified story.

‘Despite such denial, Fairfax Media continues to publish the false and defamatory allegations which have received widespread republication in media throughout the world,’ the statement reads.
