The striker, who scored five of City's six goals against Newcastle at the weekend, picked up a reported hamstring strain during Argentina's World Cup qualifier against Ecuador.
It is the 10th injury Aguero has picked up since the start of the 2012/13 season, and is expected to rule him out of City's next three Premier League games at the very least.
