Napoli fan sentenced to six months in jail for throwing seat at Juventus fans

One Napoli got a bit carried away after their loss to Juventus at the weekend and landed himself a six month jail sentence

He will be deeply regretting his decision now

Supporting a football team is an emotionally draining pastime. The insane highs and heartbreaking lows take a lot out of you. Often, in the heat of the moment, tempers flare, emotions spill over, and another side of you comes out. Insults are throw, C-bombs dropped. It happens.

But very rarely do I ever feel inclined to rip a seat out of the stand and hurl it at the opposition fans, as one Napoli fan did at the weekend, in the aftermath of their 3-1 loss to Juventus.

The culprit was identified from footage caught on CCTV, and has been sentenced to six months in jail.

Fans of The Old Lady can rest assured that they will not be in danger of being hit by any flying furniture at the San Paolo, unless the guilty man is just one of many Neapolitan fans whose natural response to anger is throwing chairs at opposition fans.

We will have to wait until early March to find out.
