Morrisons launches hottest supermarket curry ever for World Cup

Reckon you can handle it?

And we all love Vindalooooooo

It’s here. It’s finally here. England play their opening World Cup game this evening against Tunisia and the excitement (read: nerves) is already kicking in.

There is a lot of positivity around the England team going into this World Cup, so to mark the occasion, Morrisons have launched the hottest supermarket curry ever. That’s right – ever.

The product comes in a ‘volcanic curry bag’, which tells you everything you need to know about what you’re letting yourself in for when you buy this curry. The ‘Volcanic Vindaloo’ is made with Naga chillies, recorded as the world’s hottest pepper in 2011. They have a Scoville rating of up to 200 times hotter than tabasco sauce or a jalapeño.

To make sure customers are aware of the potency of the dish, Morrisons have put a warning notice on the front of the bag and recommend that only people over the age of 16 attempt to tackle it.

If you’re not quite up to the challenge, the bag also contains a hot chicken tikka masala. It also comes with two chilli naans, four onion bhajis and a portion of pilau rice. And all of that will only set you back a fiver.

Morrisons Ready Meals Expert, Simon Whittle, said: Chilli fans loved our Volcanic Vindaloo but told us they wanted a whole meal that packed a chilli punch.  So we’ve raised our curry game again.  The Volcanic Curry Bag has been a year in the making. We hope they approve!”
