Mikel Arteta has given a fresh update on Martin Odegaard's injury situation ahead of the North London Derby.
Odegaard was taken off during Norway's international break, sparking concerns about his injury and questions regarding when he would be back.
A crucial player for the Gunners team, he was an almost ever-present last season, playing 35 games in the Premier League.
When asked on his potential availability, Arteta replied:
"We need some more tests so let's see what happens in the next day or so, this afternoon probably, and see what happens with the extent of the injury and how quickly we can get him back.
"He is super positive about everything, we know Martin, he wants to be there every single day, but we have to wait and see."
Arteta added: "With 48 hours until the game, players could always become available, but let's see what happens."
When asked on new signing Raheem Sterling, Arteta was very encouraging on the new Chelsea loanee, stating:
"He looks great. First of all because he has a big smile on his face, a lot of energy. He's at it and he wants to prove a point.
"When someone has got that in his belly you sense it straight away. Obviously, I don't need to discover anything about his quality and what he can bring to the team."
