Mikel Arteta admitted that it "still hurts" when thinking about Arsenal missing out on the Premier League title.
Arsenal led the way at the top of the table for the majority of the season only to fall at the last hurdle as Manchester City went on to claim their fifth Premier League title in six years.
Despite the disappointment, both Arteta and the Gunners are planning away for the new season however the Spaniard said that that he is still feeling the effects of not going all the way.
Speaking to Marca, he said: "To this day, it still hurts me deeply, not having won the Premier [League] after spending 10 months fighting with City.
"But that’s the sport. That said, what has been achieved with such a young team is worthwhile. That is clear to me too."
Although it's Arsenal's third season in a row without silverware, Arteta's work at the Emirates Stadium has caught the attention of some, with Paris Saint-Germain - a club he spent time at as a player - reportedly interested in appointing him as their new manager.
But while the offer could be deemed as an attractive one given the players and finances available, Arteta says he has no plans to leave.
"I can only say that I am happy at Arsenal," he confirmed.
"I feel loved, valued by our owners, Stan and Josh [Kroenke], and I have a lot to do here at this club. I am happy and tremendously grateful to be at Arsenal."
