Michael Buffer criticised by fight fans for tweet to Tyson Fury

It's safe to say that Michael Buffer is just a little bit excited about Tyson Fury's return to the ring.

Fury has revealed that he will make his long-awaited comeback next year, with a monster meeting with Anthony Joshua on the horizon for the polarising heavyweight. Fury hasn't fought in almost two years, with his most recent fight coming against Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf in 2015. But Fury's time at the top was short-lived as he saw rematches with the Ukrainian cancelled due to a series of issues on Fury's part; including injury, psychological troubles and traces of cocaine showing up in a blood test. A protracted impasse with the British Boxing Board of Control due to a delayed UK anti-doping hearing means that he currently doesn't hold a licence but that's set to change in the coming months and Fury has predicted that he will stop 'AJ' inside eight rounds when they inevitably meet with undefeated records on the line. https://twitter.com/SportsJOE_UK/status/925388324189167618 It's the fight that everybody wants to see just given the dynamic between Fury and Joshua. One is a clean-cut, glowing role model for kids while the other has seen his career blighted by controversy. One is an athletic specimen with knockout power while the other is an awkward stylist who is hard to figure out. One is a notorious trash-talker, the other seldom has anything nasty to say about anyone. And while the appetite to witness Joshua vs. Fury can't be denied, perhaps veteran ring announcer Michael Buffer got a little carried away when he discovered that Fury would be making his return in 2018.

On Halloween morning, Buffer tweeted about Fury's comeback and suggested that a fight against 'AJ' might be the greatest fight in boxing history. Now, we simply can't wait to see the two unbeaten Brits collide but to even hint that it's the biggest fight of all time feels a bit much. And we're not the only ones who feel that way, clearly.
