Michael Bisping explains that very heated argument with Eddie Bravo

It wasn't as bad as it looked

Ben Kiely

One of the weirdest tings to happen during a weird week for fighting involved Michael Bisping and Eddie Bravo.

While everyone was failing to prepare themselves for the eventual disappointment of the interim lightweight title fight, a photo featuring the UFC middleweight champion and the 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu founder began doing the rounds on Twitter.

The image, taken by MMA Fighting’s Luke Thomas, appeared to show Bisping and Bravo engaging in a heated argument, which the photographer claimed went on for half an hour.

A short snippet of the dispute emerged and to be bluntly honest, it looked pretty bad. Expletive-laden and aggressive, it ticked all the wrong boxes.

Although the footage didn’t look great, it was very brief and didn’t give the whole context of the conversation. Bisping provided some explanation for what happened on the ‘Believe You Me’ Podcast, and it sounds like it was a whole lot of nothing.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’ll be honest, it was a little hazy what happened with Eddie Bravo.

“Listen, I’m an argumentative guy. Eddie is an argumentative debater as well. And that’s all it was. It was a little bit of a debate that maybe got a little bit heated.”

He confirmed that the guy he told to fuck off in the clip was not Eddie Bravo, but rather some anonymous guy who was bothering him.

“This guy kept butting in and trying to grab me, trying to grab me, trying to grab me, so I told him to fuck off. That was it. Yeah, some dude was like, ‘hey, hey, hey”… fuck off! Go away and leave me alone.”

“But other than that, it was all pretty mellow. In fact, at the end of it, we all agreed that we would train jiu-jitsu together, because I was saying how great he was at jiu-jitsu and things like that.”

As for what they were actually arguing about, good luck trying to get that out of the Count. In his own words, he was too inebriated to remember what they were at each other’s throats over. He added that there was no ill will after the argument, and the beef was forgotten about there and then.

“The actual content of the argument will remain secret. It has to remain secret because I don’t know! I was drunk! Haha! I don’t know. I don’t recall. It was bullshit! It was just one of those stupid drunk arguments. Eddie likes to smoke weed and likes to drink, s0 I’m assuming… listen, it was one of those blurry things. At the end of it, we shook hands, we hugged and I agreed to go do some rubber guard. All’s well that end’s well.”

That’s that then.
