James McClean is reportedly facing ‘internal disciplinary proceedings’ at West Brom

With Darren Moore preparing his team for their first season back in the Championship following their relegation from the Premier League in May, the BBC report McClean has refused to attend a four-day preseason training camp in Scotland.

A report on the club’s official website said the Republic of Ireland international had ‘failed to report without permission’ ahead of  their departure for the camp.

This comes after goalkeeper Ben Foster, who has since moved to Watford, and Craig Dawson were issued with fines by the club for not attending a tour of Portugal. Dawson remains at the club, though was allowed to miss the trip to Scotland after recently becoming a gather.

McClean, who joined West Brom from Wigan Athletic three years ago, has made nearly 100 appearances for the club since his arrival. In recent days, the 29-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Stoke City, who were also relegated from the English top flight at the end of last season.

West Brom begin the new season by welcoming Bolton Wanderers to the Hawthorns. They will then play their first away game of the season at Nottingham Forest.
