With a two-goal and one-man advantage, PSG were happy to stroke the ball around in the closing stages, their fans greeting every pass with cries of "Olé".
Balotelli appeared to enjoy this, judging by his Twitter. The former Manchester City and Liverpool striker posted footage of PSG playing keep ball with the caption 'Man Utd Ole' - poking fun at the fact United's current boss shares his name with the word the away end was shouting in response to their side's almost effortless possession.
Another tweet followed, saying: 'City fans happy! Good night!'
While many City fans appeared to enjoy this, it's likely supporters of his current employers, Marseille, didn't. Some of the replies pointed out the fierce rivalry Marseille have with PSG, and that him appearing to show his delight at the Ligue 1 leaders winning a big Champions League game wouldn't go down well.
Perhaps because of this, the tweets vanished from his profile on Wednesday morning.Explore more on these topics:
