Marcus Rashford looks set to play a big part in Thomas Tuchel's England setup after it was revealed the incoming manager has already reached out to the United striker's team.
Rashford has struggled to feature on the international stage over the last 18 months after a massive dip in form at club level.
During the 2023/24 season, he scored just eight goals and six assists in 43 games for United, leading Gareth Southgate to drop him ahead of the Euros this summer.
Having failed to improve this season, Lee Carsley has also not considered the forward for selection.
Anthony Gordon, Eberechi Eze, and Jack Grealish have all been favoured over the 27-year-old.
However, according to The Sun, the German manager wants Rashford to play a huge part in his England side and will be recalled to the squad in March if his form improves.
It is said Tuchel contacted the United star and told him that he was a ‘huge admirer’ of the player and saw him as an ‘essential part of the England squad’.
Furthermore, Tuchel believes the absence of Rashford played a huge part in England's struggle in Euro 2024, where England lost the final to Spain.
Rashford has won 60 caps for his country since making his debut in 2016 and scored 17 times.
He played a part in England's Euro 2016 and 2020 squad and the World Cups in 2018 and 2022.
However, with just four goals in 17 appearances this season for the Red Devils, Rashford needs to find his form under new coach Ruben Amorim if he hopes to be recalled for international duty.
Tuchel will make his Three Lions debut in March when qualifying for the 2026 World Cup begins, with the draw to be made in December.
Lee Carsley takes charge of his final two games during this break as England face Greece and Ireland in the Nations League.
