In a season of many low points, the emergence of Marcus Rashford has been one shining light for Manchester United fans.

The English striker has impressed since breaking through to the first time during the absence of Wayne Rooney, scoring two goals on his debut during United's 5-1 Europa League defeat of FC Midtjylland. Louis van Gaal's men were knocked out of the competition at the next stage by Liverpool, but the Red Devils may be the ones laughing in the long run after it emerged that Rashford turned down a chance to play at Anfield as he held out for a United contract. But even at the age of seven, Rashford's heart lay at Old Trafford as he turned down the approach and waited for United to come calling. Now, more than a decade on, United fans will be hoping that they can find more use for Rashford than fellow Fletcher Moss Rangers alumnus, Danny Welbeck, who moved on to Arsenal after 13 years at Old Trafford.
