Manchester United youngster does not want Louis van Gaal to leave this summer

Loyalty...

There are not many voices on the red side of Manchester crying out for another season under Louis van Gaal.

But you’d be wrong if you said that there was universal hope that the Dutchman’s stay at Old Trafford will be cut short this summer.

That’s because one of the youngsters promoted to the first team under Van Gaal is wishing that he remains as Red Devils boss, despite all signs pointing towards a Jose Mourinho appointment.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is one of 14 previously unheralded players to have been given a chance under the 64-year-old and he is hopeful that his fellow countryman is kept on for the remainder of his contract.

“Van Gaal is a man with real personality,” Fosu-Mensah told telesport. “I still think it’s great that I was able to make my debut under him.

“Do I hope he stays? Of course. That the club have retained Nicky Butt and Ryan Giggs from the Class of ’92, says a lot about the club, and that’s very important.”
