Manchester United preparing £35m bid for Mexico World Cup star

He was Mexico's standout player at the World Cup

Even during the World Cup, we cannot escape transfer rumours

While football fans around the world are enjoying the best tournament since records began, football clubs (remember club football) still have a lot of work to do before the upcoming season.

Premier League teams especially have to work fast before the transfer window shuts earlier than usual this summer. And Manchester United are hard at work, as they are reportedly preparing a bid of £35.5m for PSV and Mexico winger Hirving Lozano, according to The Mirror.

Lozano was Mexico’s standout player at the World Cup, as he scored the goal to beat Germany in their opening group game. Boasting a skillset very well suited to the Premier League, Lozano could be the solution to United’s problem on the right wing.

PSV will likely take this opportunity to cash in on their most prized asset while his stock is highest and reinvest the money, such is the food chain in modern football.

Lozano scored 19 goals for PSV last season, picking up 11 assists along the way.

Should the 22-year-old arrive at Old Trafford this summer, it could spell trouble for Marcus Rashford who – despite his obvious quality – struggled for game time last season and may seek first team football elsewhere.
