Just over a year ago, Luke Shaw snapped his leg in two in a game against PSV Eindhoven. Hardly the kind of thing you can just run off.
Now back from the injury, Shaw has failed to hold down a regular starting berth for Manchester United under Jose Mourinho.
Having missed the weekend's win at Swansea, much has been made of Mourinho's post-match comments which appeared to be a swipe at the likes of Shaw and Chris Smalling.
"There is a difference between the brave, who want to play at any cost, and the ones for whom a little pain can make a difference," Mourinho had said.
"If I were to speak with the many great football people of this team, they will say they played many times without being 100%.
"We have players on the pitch with problems. In every sport, how many times do you play and you're not 100%?"
With Tuesday morning's papers suggesting Shaw's United future is pretty bleak, it seems the majority of United supporters commenting on the issue are backing their new manager - implying that Shaw needs buck his ideas up if he's to fulfil his potential at the club.
