Who knew there was something even more tedious than summer-long transfer sagas - post-transfer window blame games.

As we all know, David de Gea is not a Real Madrid player. He was due to join them but the deal never went through. Since then, Real and Manchester United have been involved in a somewhat cringeworthy PR war. It started with Real releasing a statement; then United (quite rightly) responding with a statement of their own; then came Florentino Perez's criticisms of the United board - and now this... The Telegraph report that a United spokesperson has responded to Real's reply to United's statement rebuking Real's press release with the following soundbite: "The facts speak for themselves. The FA are prepared to back our case that documents were in on time. "We all like to blame others but if you let one slip through your fingers into the back of the net, then ultimately the culpability is yours." Cool. Glad that's cleared up. As if anyone really gives a f**k anymore.
