Man United's Kobbie Mainoo looks set to be the subject of major interest when the January transfer window opens in a fortnight.
The midfielder made a name for himself under the club's previous manager Erik ten Hag, helping the Red Devils win an FA Cup in 2024, but has struggled for opportunities since the arrival of Ruben Amorim.

With the departure of Marcus Rashford in the summer, the 20-year-old is the only Manchester United academy graduate with a realistic prospect of playing first-team football, making him a firm fan favourite at Old Trafford.
Despite that status, when it comes to starting regularly for the Red Devils, it is only the opinion of Man United's Portuguese manager that matters. And Amorim still appears less than fully impressed with Mainoo.
As a result, and with the World Cup now just months away, a January departure for seems a matter of inevitability.
While, Fabrizio Romano recently reported that as many as 10 clubs were keen on signing the midfielder, it now appears that the first of these are ready to come forward with an offer.
According to Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Spanish giants Real Madrid are prepared to spend €50 million to sign Mainoo this January.
Los Blancos find themselves four points off the pace in La Liga, and are in real need of new acquisitions to inject energy into Xabi Alonso's under-firing squad this January.
It remains to be seen if the €50 million offer meets Man United's demands.
