Man United make young fan’s year after his autograph book was stolen

Tom Victor

Anyone who spent their youth hanging around after football matches waiting for their favourite players will know there’s no greater pain than losing an autograph book.

To have it stolen, robbing you of those memories of meeting the stars, adds insult to injury.

Manchester United are well aware of the damage caused to 8-year-old Zayaan Khan when his autograph book was nabbed by a stranger, so they went above and beyond for the passionate United fan.

According to the Manchester Evening News, who brought Zayaan’s fate to the club’s attention, Red Devils Morgan Schneiderlin and Andreas Pereira surprised the youngster with a meet-and-greet at the club’s Carrington training ground…along with a personalised replacement book.

Describing the new autograph book as “perfect”, Zayaan said: “I have waited outside the training ground before but I’ve never been inside before so to see it and meet two of my favourite players was amazing”.

Not only was he able to meet a number of first-teamers, but he was also invited to watch a training session from the sidelines

“It was an amazing gesture from the club. It was also a very special day that we will have memories of for a long, long time,” his father, Omaar, added.
