Both Catalan newspapers Sport and Mundo Deportivo claim that Pedro Rodríguez's transfer from Barcelona to Manchester United is now a formality.

The fee is expected to be in the region of £22.5m (£20m plus add ons) but each paper differs slightly on timescale. Sport reckon Wednesday's Joan Gamper Trophy game versus Roma would be Pedro's Barca farewell, whereas Mundo Deportivo suggest a ten-day timeframe. Pedro could be joined at Old Trafford by his namesake Joao Pedro, if reports in his native Brazil are to be believed. The Palmeiras right-back impressed at the recent Under-20 World Cup alongside United's Andreas Pereira.
