Man United legend’s shock return hits Celtic’s European preparations

Former Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made a surprise return to management by rejoining Molde.

The 42-year-old, who led the Norwegian side to a league title before joining Cardiff in 2014, will take charge of Molde’s Europa League tie against Celtic on Thursday as his first game back in the hotseat.

He has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the club, who parted ways with former head coach Tor Ole Skullerud in August.

The 2014 champions have no chance of retaining their title this season, and are all but out of European contention.

Molde are currently top of Group A in the Europa League with four points from two games, and can extend their lead with victory over Ronny Deila’s Celtic.
