Man United fans fear Man City are plotting to up their Sanchez bid as odds tumble

The odds suggest things aren't as clear as reports on Sunday night had suggested...

Alexis Sanchez appears close to a move to Manchester.

That much, we do know.

Until this week, he was widely expected to join Manchester City, after coming close to sealing the move at the end of the summer transfer window. This, for now at least, no longer appears to be the case.

It’s emerged in recent days that Manchester United are interested in signing the player, and have reportedly moved ahead of their nearest neighbours in the pursuit of the Arsenal star. On Sunday evening, some reports went as far as saying City were set to abandon their hopes of signing the Chilean.

United fans aren’t counting their chickens, however. History has told them not to get too excited about a new signing until he first takes to the field wearing their shirt.

So, with Twitter speculation on Monday morning claiming City hadn’t quite given up hope of signing Sanchez, many United fans noted that the odds of him moving to the blue half of Manchester had tumbled.

United fans were fearing that City were about to hi-jack their own hi-jacked move for the player…

Seriously though, can we just get this deal done one way or another please? Cheers.
