Manchester United fans *really* aren’t happy with the Paul Pogba situation

Enough is enough

Every day another story; every few hours another twist.

Paul Pogba is the prodigal son who seems forever on the verge of returning to Manchester. The deal to take him from Juventus to United this summer has been ‘close’ to completion for weeks now, and yet the saga rumbles on.

Certainly Jose Mourinho would have liked to have had the deal sorted ages ago. He expressed his impatience for essential signings 3 and 4 in his first official press conference as the Old Trafford boss. The Portuguese may want further buys, but he needed these.

Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan may now be safely in the bag, but perhaps the most important of this quartet of fundamental reinforcements remains elusive. Pogba is still a Juve player as we approach the arse end of July, and the delay is a concern.

The red half of Manchester is waiting with baited breath; they are on the precipice of boasting one of the most highly sought talents in world football, and yet until it is confirmed, nothing is certain and everything is liable to go completely tits up.

United fans are at a point now where that joke isn’t funny anymore, and they’re left wondering how soon is now. Until they know it’s over, there is a light that never goes out – but the real fear is that they want the one they can’t have.

For many, enough is enough and they just want a swift resolution to the whole palaver. If that means that Pogba doesn’t end up at Old Trafford then fair enough; they just want to be spared the incessant speculation…
