Manchester United could be set to lose Ander Herrera next summer. Or at least that's what's being reported in Spain...
With his contract at Old Trafford set to expire in 2018, a report from AS on Friday has claimed the midfielder could be close to agreeing a return to his homeland. The reportadds that Atletico Madrid are eyeing a move for Herrera as they seek to strengthen their midfield, adding that the player has rejected the offer of a renewal at United.
Naturally, many United supporters have taken the news with a pinch of salt... although it hasn't stopped some of them from getting ahead of themselves.
As Jose Mourinho guided the club to Europa League glory in Stockholm at the end of last season, it seemed a return to the Champions League would be enough to coax Antoine Griezmann to Manchester. As we all know, a transfer ban for Atleti stopped the move from happening.
Some are under the impression that United will return for the French international next summer. This, along with the report on Herrera, has seen some of the club's supporters jump to conclusions.
