Manchester City have made a formal approach for one of Europe's most in-form forwards in a move that would give them a huge advantage going into the second-half of the season.

Two points off the Champions League positions, City have now made a formal approach to open talks with an attacker that could transform their fortunes.
As per Foot Mercato, discussions are ongoing between the player Omar Marmoush and the club over a potential January move.
Marmoush is keen on the move, and it is now up to German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt on the decision of the sale.
The attacker is in stellar form, scoring 18 goals in just 24 games this season.
With an eye for a pass too, Marmoush also has registered 12 assists, proving to be one of Europe's best playmakers.
