Mamadou Sakho has been offered a move from Liverpool, and he should probably take it

He needs to get out of Anfield

Mamadou Sakho doesn’t appear to have a future at Anfield, so this might be a good move for him.

This time last year, Sakho was a first-choice defender for Liverpool and a fan favourite among the Anfield faithful.

He was also a key player for France and could look forward to Euro 2016 on home.

Sakho was then suspended pending the results of a drug test in March.

The defender was subsequently cleared of any charges and avoided a ban, but missed the conclusion of Liverpool’s season and Euro 2016.

He returned to Liverpool’s squad in the summer. However, he was sent home from their pre-season tour of the United States by Jurgen Klopp for disciplinary issues.

“He nearly missed the departure of the plane, he missed a session and was late for a meal,” Klopp said.

“We have some rules and we have to respect them.”

Sakho then had an outburst about his situation on Snapchat. The 26-year-old was vented his frustration at being frozen-out and claimed he was fit and ready to play.

He has yet to play a minute of first-team football this season, and looks unlikely to ever play for Klopp’s side again.

However, according to Turkish media, Galatasaray have offered him an escape route from Anfield.

AMK Sport report that the Turkish giants want to sign Sakho on-loan for the remainder of the season. They are prepared to pay €1m to make it happen.

Galatasaray coach Jan Olde Riekerink is reportedly a big fan of the player. The club are currently third in the league, three points behind leaders İstanbul Başakşehir.

Turkish media report that Liverpool are open to the possibility of sending Sakho on-loan to Galatasaray. However, their first option is to secure a permanent deal.

The defender is evidently too good to sit in the Liverpool reserves, but appears to have lost his way at the club.
