As injuries go, this is as disgusting and as vile as they come.

It was a good day for Middlesbrough. Their 1-1 draw with Brighton sees them promoted automatically to the Premier League along with champions Burnley. Screen Shot 2016-05-07 at 14.53.13 Gaston Ramirez will be celebrating from the hospital though after suffering a revolting cut on his leg during the game. The Uruguayan was subbed off after five minutes of on-field treatment during the do-or-die final-day clash at the Riverside and the challenge from Dale Stephens - which resulted in a straight red - could be Ramirez's final involvement with Middlesbrough after joining the club on loan from Southampton in January. He leaves with a mark though. A right dirty one.
