Liverpool’s rumoured away kit for next season would be a drastic departure

Reds fans will hope this is nothing more than a rumour

This would be a bold move.

Christmas isn’t even here yet but, already, rumours are doing the rounds in relation to next season’s Premier League kits.

And while we should stress that Liverpool fans shouldn’t start panicking just yet, it goes without saying that few would be on board if the rumours of their away kit for the 2018/19 campaign ultimately prove to be true.

Reliable football strip website FootyHeadlines are right more often than they’re wrong and they’ve suggested that Reds fans will have to put up with a dark purple and luminous green colour scheme on the club’s new away kit.

While the purple and green colour combination was a popular one among the early tracksuits of 90s kids, we’re not sure of its suitability when it comes to football kits.

Liverpool’s current away shirt consists of a white and green design but we’ve not seen it all that often this season, which is a shame because it’s actually quite tasty.

Twitter-user @FumlerRawk was on the money when he mocked up the above quarter design this time last year and, using his sources, he’s come up with the below looks for how Liverpool’s shirts for next season might look.
